Most Magyarul!
This intercultural bilingual (Dutch/Hungarian) magazine about Hungary and the Hungarian language and culture existing since 1996. Good, interesting magazine icompiled by a promoter of Hungary. The website is less extensive than the magazine. The editor, Edwin van Schie, also manages another site: Hungarian Concerts which provides information on performances by Hungarian artists, so music, theater, dance in the Netherlands. Not entirely covered by this section, but no mention would be a pity...Hongarije Vakantieland
A Dutch site with tons of information, also about Budapest, but the layout of the website and extent of it, causes that you quickly lose the overview. Julius has a serious warning: At least concerning to Budapest the information is (very) obsolete. Information about prices, locations, etc. are in most cases outdated. Also, streets names used during the communist era are still in use. Other current information is also missing. The same for the information about which companies from anywhere in the Netherlands (and just over the border) fly towards Budapest, definitely dated, one of these companies is declared bankrupt three years ago .....Also the layout and navigation, each page in a new tab, is not a way of friendly surfing. The name is confusing because the site contains much information about Hungary, that you do not need when you are on holiday. Finally, there are too many commercial links, so you don't get independent information. Was included because of the extensive information.
Hongaars Kinderplezier
Mixed feelings: designed for (Dutch) parents with children, who want to visit Hungary. Information on swimming pools, amusement parks, sports, museums, etc. In short, all the attractions that kids would enjoy. Very good initiative, but too much useless information and too many carelessness, indicating that the information not is checked on spot.In concrete terms, a few caveats: Museums that are unsuitable, partly because of the subject, partly because many small museums only have an explanation in Hungarian; Distance tables are not always throbbing, the time you must spend getting from one attraction to another is very confusing: the means of transport is not mentioned, if walking you should be a top athlete and by the car is also in the majority of cases, pure nonsense; Cinemas are only interesting when they show films with English subtitles or in the original language.
A little more effort, control and ease some changes according to surfing would do the site very well, because the initiative is, as I said, fantastic. Because of the design it is also difficult to keep the information up to date. Nevertheless, you certainly can find useful information for a family holiday in Hungary on it, hence the link.
Hongaars Verkeersbureau
No longer in the Netherlands established, but located in Belgium. Sake of completeness given, but the site is barely updated, so information can be outdated. Furthermore, an unwieldy organization that relies on outdated values and inflexible is. Website is in Dutch.Dutch start pages about Budapest and Hungary
